Turning back the clock for the CSK fans, skipper Dhoni was seen showcasing sharp wicketkeeping skills along with his batting onslaught in the intra-squad match.
Gearing up for their mouth-watering clash against Rishabh Pant's Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) played out an intra-squad encounter in the build-up to the 14th season of the cash-rich league. Dhoni-led CSK will be hoping to bounce back in the 2021 season of the IPL after recording their worst-ever finish in the previous campaign.
Days before the start of domestic cricket's biggest extravaganza, the official social media handle of the Chennai Super Kings gave sneak-peak of the franchise's preparations for the new season. Taking to Twitter, CSK shared the 'Supermatch Highlights' of the intra-squad match of the Dhoni-led side in Mumbai. "#SuperMatch highlights! Catch all the hits, swings and spells from when the lions took on themselves! #WhistlePodu #Yellove," CSK captioned the video on the microblogging site.
Besides Dhoni and Suresh Raina, returning all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was seen firing in full cylinders in the practice match. CSK legend Raina missed the 2020 season of the IPL due to personal reasons. Veteran all-rounder Jadeja on the other, is making his return to competitive cricket after a thumb injury.
CSK's formidable squad including the likes of Cheteshwar Pujara, Dwayne Bravo, Sam Curran, Moeen Ali, Deepak Chahar, and Shardul Thakur also turned up for the practice match prior to the start of the new season.
